Wigwams Nursery has joined together with three other nurseries in the area - Early Years at Highfield, Early Years at Whitehouse and Highfield Nursery school - to provide a toy library in North West Ipswich. The toy library loans a wide selection of high quality resources FREE OF CHARGE to families, childminders and early years providers living or operating in North West Ipswich, the resources are for children aged 0 – 5 years old.
To loan a resource please browse the catalogue, choose your item, and complete the reservation form, then you can collect the resources from one of the nurseries operating the toy library. You can borrow the resources for 6 weeks at a time and drop them back to the nursery afterwards. We ask each family/ EY setting to fill in a short reservation form before loaning the toys to ensure you live or operate in the North West Ipswich Area, this area includes Whitton, Whitehouse and Castle Hill (please see a map of this area in the link below). The collection/drop off dates and locations are advertised in advance, the details are included in the reservation form. (coming soon est. Jan/Feb 2025)
The Plan – NW Ipswich Big Local Trust
The aims of the toy library are:
- To support young children to learn and develop through play
- To give young children the opportunity to engage in fun and memorable play experiences
- To help families save money by alleviating costs to purchase toys
- To help families save space on toy storage
- To reduce waste by reusing high quality and durable resources preventing the need to purchase cheap toys that often break quickly and end up in landfill.
The toy library is generously funded by the following organisations: North West Ipswich Big Local Trust, Friends of Ipswich School and The East of England Stronger Practice Hub. We thank each of these organisations for their kind donations to allow this project to take place.
We hope you enjoy loaning the toys! For additional information or enquiries, please email [email protected]
