‘All about Me’ month
Children are full of questions – they are curious about the world around them and always interested in discovering new things.
These questions are important, they help children learn about their surroundings, explore their feelings and emotions, grow their imaginations and develop their language and thinking skills.
But asking children questions is just as important, opening them up to self-reflection and looking at the world in a different way.
This month, the Nature Den doing just that – asking the children about themselves, their families and the people that are special to them.
Here, Nursery Manager Olivia Sharman, delves into the importance of asking questions and the Den’s ‘All about Me’ themed activities.
Questions, questions
I’m sure most parents are used to getting a barrage of questions from their children every day – including the difficult ‘why?’.
These questions are important to how a child develops, helping them to learn while engaging their imaginations.
This month, our theme for learning is ‘All about Me’ – where we will be the ones asking the questions!
We have a range of group activities and fun tasks for the children, helping them learn how to talk about themselves and what is most important to them.
A huge part of our ethos here at the Nature Den is letting the children lead the way in their activities, giving them the chance to let their imaginations flourish, while developing their learning and social skills.
Fun activities
This will be an exciting month at the Nature Den, packed with activities and lots of fun.
We are looking forward to hearing what the children say. Who are their heroes? What do they want to do when they grow up? What are their favourite things to do? How are they feeling?
